Sanctuary Series
The Sanctuary Series is an ongoing programme of talks at Brimscombe Mill bringing together visionary thinkers, change makers and creatives to explore sustainability, economic justice, community and the arts. I am commissioned to support the series with bespoke hand painted backdrops to ‘hold’ the stage space and provide a visual identity for each talk.
Here is a selection from the last 12 months:
Bishop Rachel, Anglican Bishop for Prisons, and criminal barrister Tom Godfrey explored the complex balance at the heart of the justice system asking what role prison should play in achieving justice for individuals, communities and society.
Juliet Davenport ( former CEO of Good Energy ) and Emma Pinchbeck (CEO at the Climate Change Committee), shared insights on the future of energy and climate action. The backdrop depicted large and small actions collectively leading forwards.
Kate Raworth: Visionary economist and Doughnut Economics author Kate Raworth shared her bold ideas for a more regenerative and inclusive economy and how we live, work and care for our planet.
Jonathan Porritt spoke with Dr Mya-Rose Craig aka BirdGirl about how to stay hopeful and positive in the face of the climate crisis. I used birdsong visualised as colour for this pattern based backdrop.
